Aubrey Plaza Joins “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman”
“Parks and Recreation” Latina actress Aubrey Plaza is getting a few projects under her belt to show off her range of acting abilities.
During an exclusive interview for “Safety Not Guaranteed” with Latino-Review, the actress discussed a few upcoming projects she will be in the future.
“I am working on a movie next month in Romania with Shia LeBeouf. It’s called, ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman,” she confirmed to Latino-Review.
Plaza did not elaborate her specific role, but the actress wants to show her other acting abilities other than a sarcastic or depressed girl with a deadpan stare.
Here’s the synopsis of LeBeouf’s film:
Charlie Countryman (LaBeouf) was just a normal guy…until he fell in love with the one girl who will probably get him killed. When Charlie meets the absolutely irresistible Gabi she’s already been claimed by Nigel, an insanely violent crime boss with a gang of thugs at his disposal. Armed with little more than his wit and naïve charm, Charlie endures one bruising beat down after another to woo Gabi and keep her out of harm’s way. Finally his exploits of blind valor create such a mess that he’s left with only one way out; to save the girl of his dreams, must Charlie Countryman die?
Plaza will join an already confirmed cast that includes Evan Rachel Wood, Rupert Grint (also confirmed this weekend), Til Schweiger, Mads Mikkelsen and Melisso Leo.
The project will be directed by Fredrik Bond from a script written by Matt Drake (“Project X”).
Plaza stars in her first lead role in the upcoming sci-fi romantic film “Safety Not Guaranteed.” She will also be seen in “Ten Year” and star in the lead role of “To Do List” next year.

Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman turned heads Tuesday at the Peabody Awards when he showed up with a newly minted hair — and beard — do. The actor, known for his signature brown mustache, had instead opted for a full blond dye job on his locks that extended down to a full blond beard.
“Don’t keep it, Nick!” exclaimed co-star Aubrey Plaza during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She happened to be on hand the night of Offerman’s big reveal (and even touched his facial hair), but says she’s not quite sure why he did it. “Probably just for nothing, I don’t know. He’s crazy,” she said.
Asked if he should keep the new look, Plaza quickly quipped, “God, no.”
“It doesn’t matter how he looks, he’s always charming and hilarious,” she added. “He could pull it off.”
Speaking of the next season of Parks and Rec, Plaza said she hopes April (Plaza) and Andy (Chris Pratt) will welcome a bundle of joy in the near future, but suspects that April may be taking on more duties in the Pawnee parks department, instead.
“Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) won the election, so there’s a gap in the parks department now,” she explained. “I have a feeling that April is going to have to pick up a lot of that slack and take on some bigger responsibilities, so I think you’ll continue to see her on the path of becoming a fully realized adult.”
But before she steps back into April’s shoes, Plaza can be seen opposite New Girl’s Jake Johnson and The League’s Mark Duplass in FilmDistrict’s Safety Not Guaranteed, out June 8 nationwide.
‘Parks and Recreation’ Receives a Peabody Award and Previews Season 5
The cast of Parks and Recreation are in New York City today and stopped by the Waldorf Astoria to accept a Peabody Award.
We got a few minutes to chat with the stars of the show to find out how it felt to get this recognition. Amy Poehler said if her character Leslie was there she would be delighted and, “…her head would explode.”
Nick Offerman also teases the upcoming season in a few words: “Cocaine, guns and trannies.” Check it all out here including a nice message to their fan base:

‘Safety Not Guaranteed’ Story Behind the Real Ad Featurette
Wanted: Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. One of our collectively favorite films from Sundance this year was the indie comedy sensation Safety Not Guaranteed, starring Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass and Jake Johnson. The film is inspired by a real classified ad that showed up in 1997 in the magazine Backwoods Home, and it follows three slacker journalists who investigate the reality behind it. Apple posted a new featurette for the indie that focuses on the “story behind the real ad” and how it all connects with the film, including some behind-the-scenes footage. It’s good stuff, enjoy!

“Parks and Recreation” Renewed For Season 5
Its time to play good news, bad news! Good news, “Parks and Recreation” has been officially renewed by NBC for a fifth season. Bad news, the season will only feature 13 episodes!
EDIT: Turns out that the show got a 22 episode order after all! Full season for us fans!
NBC Poised to Renew Community, 30 Rock and Parks and Rec – But There’s a Catch
NBC is looking to bring back its Thursday night comedy block — with some caveats.
The Peacock network is nearing a deal that would see 30 Rock return for a seventh and final season of 13 or 14 episodes, per our sister site Deadline.
Last month, Rock‘s creator and star Tina Fey told the ladies of The View that the end was “visible on the horizon… We can’t do this for 35 years.”
Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Community and Parks and Recreation are also expected to be picked up for an abbreviated fourth and fifth season, respectively.
No official word from NBC has been made about the status of the new season - we will post as soon as any new information is released!

Step aside, Michael Cera, Aubrey Plaza has become the Jester of Awkward Comedy. She first burst on the scene in the sketch group Derrick Comedy’s first feature “Mystery Team,” but it took the TV show “Parks and Recreation” to showcase Plaza’s deadpan comedic skills. In her first leading role, Plaza plays Darius Britt, a curious journalist who goes out to meet and interview a man who has posted a Craiglist ad looking for a partner to travel back in time. The kicker? This is based on a real ad.There are a lot of things to avoid this summer: blistering sun, bug spray, sweating, sunburns, broken air conditioning, puka shell necklaces. Thankfully, heaven can be found indoors, in a movie theater, with functional air conditioning, popcorn and 90+ minutes of pure cinematic bliss.
